'Phonics is taught exceptionally well. teachers expertly model the techniques that they expect pupils to use. Due to the teacher's enthusiasm and use of interesting teaching strategies, pupils demonstrated great confidence when successfully sounding out unfamiliar words. The pupils' delight at their achievements was clearly evident.'

Year 1 and 2 in the Space Dome
Year 1 and 2 had an amazing ‘out of this world’ experience last week when we had the opportunity to experience life in Space. Once we had ‘crawled’ through the sparkly tunnel we enjoyed stargazing and learning about all the Planets in our Solar System. As we experienced ‘moving’ in Space we looked at different star constellations and listened to the story of Sirius and Orion and how they came to find themselves living amongst the Stars. It was a fantastic way to start our topic this term and we look forward to sharing work with you at our class assemblies later in the year.
