Highfields is a medium sized school in the heart of the community.  Our aim is to provide a caring environment for all children.  We offer a wide range of challenging learning opportunities, for all children to help them grow into independent and responsible people.  We foster a positive attitude to learning, encouraging self-discipline and building self-confidence that enables each individual to become an effective learner.  At the heart of our ethos is care and consideration for others.

We are extremely fortunate that in 2000, we were one of twelve Tendring Schools to be included in a PPP scheme.  This meant a brand new school with permanent accommodation for 350 pupils.  Architects worked closely with the school to ensure a building that met the new model brief for Essex.  We have spacious closed classes, a large purpose built ICT suite, two halls, a medical room, large welcoming entrance hall and many other features that give opportunity for enhanced stimulating teaching and learning.  The landscape provides spacious soft/hard play areas where pupils can enjoy quality leisure time.

Our school was last inspected by Ofsted in November 2022 and Highfields continues to be an OUTSTANDING school. We are very proud of our school, come and take a look!
