All about Mabel
Mabel is a Toy Cavapoo owned by the Scott family. Mabel loves going on walks, playing fetch, meeting new people and snuggling up for cuddles, especially if someone reads to her.
Mabel's mum is a King Charles Spaniel and her dad is a Toy Poodle. This combination means Mabel is a small dog who does not shed her fur. Because her fur doesn’t fall out, it just keeps growing longer and longer! Mabel needs to visit the dog groomers every 6-8 weeks to have a haircut. Sometimes she might look quite different after her trim, but don't worry - she is the same Mabel, just like how we look a bit different if we have a haircut or wear different clothes.

Mabel is a special dog because she is part of Pets as Therapy, also called PAT. This group helps friendly dogs visit places like schools, care homes and hospitals, where people enjoy having a calm, gentle dog to spend time with.
Therapy dogs, like Mabel, can help people feel happier and more relaxed. Being with a therapy dog can lower stress and worry, help our bodies feel calmer, and even make us smile more. Dogs don’t judge us, so they can make it easier for people to talk and feel confident.
Because Mabel loves children so much, Highfields is the perfect place for her to visit!
