Changes to 2021 national curriculum assessments
Earlier today, Wednesday 6th January 2021, the Secretary of State for Education confirmed the cancellation of SATs this year.
He said: "I can absolutely confirm we won't be proceeding with Sats this year. We do recognise this will be an additional burden on schools."
The phonics screening check for Year 1 children will take place week commencing Monday 7th June 2021.

Cancellation of 2019/20 national curriculum assessments
The Secretary of State for Education announced on Wednesday 18th March, that the 2019/20 national curriculum assessments will not take place due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This means the following assessments planned between April and July 2020 are cancelled:
Primary school performance measures will not be published for the 2019/20 academic year.
